A Whitchurch BUG?

Is anyone interested in a Whitchurch BUG?
A Whitchurch Bicycle Users Group?

2012 will go down as a year which saw cycling jump to the top of the agenda following many notable highlights.

Exactly one year ago today (2nd February 2012) The Times launched it's Cyclesafe campaign focussing on the many issues that affect safe cycling. It was pleasing that our own Whitchurch Town Council then voted unanimously to supported the principles. Hopefully at least one of those, 20mph, will soon be adopted for the town.

Meanwhile more and more people are seeing the benefits of two wheels - for popping to the shops, for leisure, health, commuting, as well as for the environment.
But there are many issues that affect those riding bikes in Whitchurch - potholes, cycle parking, child cycling, security, workplace facilities, and of course road safety and a fear of traffic.

Cycling BUGS are Forums used to collate these issues with an aim of having a better voice for those who cycle, and to pass them to local authorities and Councils.

If you would like to be involved with a Whitchurch BUG, either simply on a corresponding basis or in helping set one up, please email: Whitchurch Cycling

It would probably meet 3-4 times a year or as necessary.
